Art as a prayer

Andrea Brivio - Artista

Andrea Brivio was born in 2001 in Monza and grew up surrounded by the beauty of the lake landscapes of Lecco, developing a particular love for drawing flowers and plants from an early age.

At 8 years old he approached oil painting and at 11 he partecipated to the first traditional japanese painting and Shodo calligraphy workshops .

He met the Japanese painter Shoko Okumura, with whom he established an important relationship of exchange and artistic growth, and deepened into a more detailed knowledge of the techniques and use of traditional Japanese materials.
He graduated in 2020 from the A.Manzoni languages high school in Lecco.
He’s currently studying at the G.Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo and at the classical atelier Milan Academy of Art in Milan.

2013:

collective exhibition at “Studi Aperti” Ameno (NO)

2023: 

  • he exhibits at the Turin Book Fair, in the peacock publishing house stand.
  • he is among the finalists of the eighth edition of the Bocca prize, at Libreria Bocca, Milan.
  • collective of finalists of the Bocca prize
  • collective “Energy from the Imaginary” at Studio Danovi, Milan
  • peacock publishing house publishes “Full Moon over the ancient city” a collection of Japanese tankas with the finalist work at the Bocca prize on the cover.

2024: 

  • he exhibits “Accorrsi” (short film of hand-painted animations) at the collective Clorofilla 2024 edition, Polytechnic of Arts of Bergamo.
  • he exhibits “Shibui” (artist’s book of etchings and aquatints) at the Polytechnic of Arts of Bergamo.
  • solo exhibition “Il Canto delle Rondini” curated by Antonio d’Amico, director of the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum, at Libreria Bocca (oldest bookshop in Italy).

2025:

  • exhibition “ Allievi del Torrente” for the collective exhibition “From Paris to Paris, by sea”, at Fantoni hub, Bergamo.
